A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME...
A graduate from Aberystwyth and Leeds Law School respectively.
I converted to Catholicism in 2010 after a dark night of the soul in the City of Bath (UK), where to quote St. Edith Stein one 's life journey was seeking the truth and "whoever seeks the truth is seeking God.” I chose the confirmation name of Samuel from the Book of Kings after my parish priest at that time, Fr. Tony Convery, told me about the calling of Samuel and the instructions of Eli.
I served on the parish council at my church in the Westminster Diocese and was proud to carry the parish banner in procession during the Papal Visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the UK.
In 2022 I lost my fingers and legs to sepsis after surviving Septic Shock, my faith kept me going during recovery. I went to many hospitals from West Middlesex where my life was saved, to Paddington where I was amputated and had Sunday mass from Fr. Blaze and finally, Roehampton.
I had a Trachy, multiple organ failure with dialysis, jaundice, necrosis of the fingers and below knee leg loss, left wrist drop, pressure sores and scarring, being in a coma for roughly a month. I also was in pain when I came out of the coma to find part of my bowel had died and there was internal bleeding, this left me with a reversible loop stoma. My wife and I were saddened to hear that my mother-in-law had passed away from TB in Jakarta (ID) after awakening from the coma.
I went to the Douglas Bader Rehabilitation Gym where I was instructed with a wheelchair and learned to walk again and where Sr. Lilibet and Sr. Prim, from the nearby Church, administered the Eucharist. My faith is very important to me and I use this website to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." (Mark 16:15).
1 Samuel 3:9-10
